Many growers are always looking to get the most out of their crop and it all starts with the planter. You can plant a $300 bag of corn because you see and hear it yields very well but if your planter has miscues, then you are not getting the most out of that bag of seed.
It all starts with singulation. Singulation is measured by the amount of skips and doubles your planter is planting. A good singulation for a finger meter is between 98.5 and 99 percent. A vacuum runs between 95 and 99 percent. Do you know what your planter is running for singulation? It is important that if you see your planter not planting correctly, that you stop and fix the problem before continuing to plant. If not, now is a great time to have your Insight FS Precision Equipment Specialist come out and check your meters for you and see how we can improve your planter accuracy.
